Cards Galore!

Tori got tons and tons of cards for her birthday. It was awesome. She had well over 20 cards. And all from people that don't even know her! I know, how scary that strangers are sending her cards. But it was a request I made. And it turned out well.

A few cards were from family and friends. But I think her favorite ones were the cards she received in the mail. Most cards has stickers inside for her. And a few even had money! We were both tickled over the money (like I said it came from people that we don't even know).

Overall, it was a great outcome. And added to her great birthday.

I'll try to make a post later and explain where she got all the cards. They came from a great community of people. Even you could have the same requests made for you, your children or just anyone you feel needs cheering up and it's all free!

Tori's Birthday Party

So we finally had Tori's birthday party. Her birthday was actually January 29th. But weather kept ruining plans. Was originally set for January 22nd-ish. But we got snowed in and roads were bad. So had to call parents and let them know it was canceled. Didn't want to risk anyone getting in an accident. And of course the weekend of her birthday she wasn't home. And the weekend after was no good because there was still tons of snow out from the blizzard.

But, it finally happened. And it went well. She had 4 of 10 friends show up (hey better then last year!). They all brought her a gift. I ordered pizza for lunch for the whole bunch. Oddly enough we had ton left over.

We had one girl stay over. Tori wanted them all to stay over, but I'm not mentally equipped for that many extra squealing girls! But I let her pick one to stay and it went well.

Tori is in the front middle. The shortest of the bunch. So sad too lol. The other girls were the same age, yet she is the smallest, by a lot!

And here's sort of a picture of the cake. I forgot to take a good one. And only managed this one because Josie was playing with the camera.

So there you have it :)

Snow Storm of 2011

It started off slow. Not much out there. And in a matter of seconds, it was coming down hard. You could hardly see a thing. Driving was not safe (yeah, we ventured out. Had an appointment I was NOT going to miss just because mother nature was having a fit).

I just couldn't believe how much snow we got. I mean, we couldn't see the ground at all. People were getting snowed into their homes. It was bad. We weren't prepared for such a storm.

Toys were lost in the snow. Not that you could actually play. You'd lose some kids out there!

After a while, I lost my rose bush. We were pretty close to losing the road sign too, that's just how bad it was lol. I attempted to walk up close to my roses, but got just a little scared. I was afraid the snow would take me down. If I had fell, I seriously would have had problems getting back up. Like hell I was taking that risk

Here's some more random pictures of the storm. The day after we shoveled a LOT. Helped neighbors get out of their homes (for some reason our back porch was CLEAR). We even shoveled the back street we live on. Some people still had to get to work. Families to feed, bills to pay. You know how it goes.

That's the back porch up there. Snow covered the steps, but not the actual porch lol. This is how we got out after the storm for the first day.

That was my front porch. Couldn't see a thing.

Josie's jeep. Guess she wasn't driving anywhere anytime soon LOL.

Can you see the neighbor's car? Don't worry, I had problems finding it too.

And that is my wonderful husband. He was out helping with the shoveling. He's such a great guy.

Ya'll still here? That's it for pictures. With as many as I added, this post became super long lol

See That Tree?

I've been hiding for a while now. Lots of things happened since I last posted.

Tori turned 9 years old. I can't believe she's growing up so fast! She's not a baby anymore. And oh my she is so very intelligent. Her birthday was January 29th. Still no party though. Had some crazy snow storms here in Missouri. I mean an all out blizzard. I'll have to post pictures of that sometime. Crazy, I can't believe how much snow is out there.

Still having problems with my ankle. Only, I found out it's not an actual ankle problem. It's all in my back! Apparently I have herniated discs. I'm still confused by all this and just don't know what to think. Kinda weird that my pain isn't even related to the area it's in. Who knows.

I'm supposed to get epidural injections to help fix the problem. I'm kinda scared to you the truth. I've never even heard of this. Only time I've heard of an epidural is when you're having a baby. And I'm pretty sure this isn't the same thing. Can't be. It's supposed to be an in and out sort of thing. I'll have to do more research into it.

Oh well. I think I'll get moving. Going to do a quick sweep of the whole house and get some sleep. I'll be back soon with more updates! I know I want to show you all the snow storm we got over here.

My Poor Baby

My poor baby boy. He has such a terrible rash. He looks so miserable.
I have no idea what's causing it. Here's what I do know:
  • It appeared when he got Strep Throat
  • Disappeared within a day of starting antibiotics, but returned a couple days after stopping them.
  • The rash then disappeared a couple days after staying with my mother in law.
  • Rash came back within a day of being home.
When we took him in and discovered he had strep throat they told us the rash was called Strep Rash which was a result of Scarlet Fever. This was over a month ago. Not sure of the exact date off hand. The above picture was taken on the 10th of December AFTER our doctor visit.

I took him back to the doctor last Saturday and he said it's possible he is allergic to something. Doctor first said to give him 1/2 tsp of Benadryl 3 times a day. Until I told him he was already taking it 2 times a day. So he gave us some Singulair and Allegra. One packet of Singulair and 1/2 tsp Allegra once a day. If the rash was still there, or had become worse, in a week then to bring him back.

Here's the rash today--
His face still looks bad. A little worse then the picture above. Which is why I'm not posting one. He rubs his eyes a lot and does lots of blinking. I don't know if that's related to the rash or not. I could just be noticing that when he's tired.

Everything is making me so paranoid now. I just want this rash gone. I want to know what's causing it.

Bad Mommy!

So I just realized, I'm totally slacking on my task of tossing things from my house. Bad Mommy. Bad Wifey....

Meh, it'll get done lol. I am still adding things to the box for freecycle. And in my defense, I did take some more toys to the dumpster this morning. Not that I wanted to walk up there. But Tori had school, and they weren't delaying the day. So I made use of the walk (aside from keeping her company) and toss out the 2 Wal*Mart sized bags of toys.

I've also tossed out some bottles of vitamins no one will use (you'd think that if it was like candy the young ones would love it, but nope the 4 year old hates gummy candy figures). Gave away a box of disposable nursing pads (I only used 3 and certainly don't need them anymore--it's been 8 months since I've stopped nursing and pumping) and a few Pampers wet wipe coupons.

So I have been getting things out. I just haven't remembered to keep track. To make sure I actually had at least 8 things.

But that's ok right? Stuff is still going out.

I can't be too slow about it though. Tori is having a birthday party next weekend. And of course I'm hosting it in our crummy trailer (no offense to anyone in a trailer, I know they can be great, I just hate the particular one we are in lol). And with all this clutter, it's bound to embarrass her.

This of course is assuming anyone even shows up. Last year we had 9 people confirm and 0 show. Poor girl cried for a couple hours. And I don't blame her. We did make up for it and took her to Denny's where they sang happy birthday and gave her all the hot chocolate she wanted free of charge (still had to pay for the dinner, bummer).

This year must turn out better.

Miles still has his rash. Means I'll probably be taking him back to the doctor for allergy testing. Ugh I'm not looking forward to that. I'm just sure they'll tell me it's something to do with our carpet. Not that I'm saying it's nasty. But seriously we can't afford to replace it! I mean, we'll do what we must so he doesn't have to suffer. But it will be one difficult task.

Speaking of Miles, him and his twin Emmit are starting to squeak in bed. Which means I must get moving. I'll probably come back in an hour or two. And I'll let you know if I got anywhere with cleaning and tossing (though I probably won't get far haha)

Week 1 Day 2

I am being so lazy today. So far, I've only gathered up 2 things. But I haven't really gone around doing any cleaning either. And I'm sure if I go pull a box out of the laundry room I can gather more things. Just not in the mood right now.

It'll get done today. Just not until later.

So far my items are 5 coupons for pampers wet wipes and some cricket food. Ok I don't use pampers so don't need their coupons. And for the cricket food....yeah. We haven't had a cricket eating creature in like 3 years. So, those can go out. Of course, I'll list them on Freecycle so it's not just tossed in the trash.

Oh and the stuff from yesterday will be going to a new home. Well, except the sheets. Someone is going to be by later to pick up the clothes, food, blankets and booster seat. So that's awesome!

On a different note, it's freezing outside. And although it's 72 in my house, I'm still cold. Doesn't help I'm sitting next to a window that isn't really covered. Maybe I'll take one of those "toss out" sheets and tack it to the wall around the window. Hey it might be tacky but it will sure help block out the cold air!

Ok ok. I'm don rambling for right now. I just got my new order of tulle in and I'm ready to check out the colors and get to making some tutus!
